I miss being

13.

Before school got too serious with exams and career talk.

Before pocket and paper round money turned into wages to make ends meet.

Before responsibility for anything other than a stick insect or stuffed animal existed.

Before friendships were strained where relationships interfered past a crush on boyzone.

Before appearance required so much consideration before an outing.

Before emotions became a bigger deal than crying over the end of titanic.

Before thinking that the end of the summer holidays was the end of the world.

Before everything else on the endless list of childhood privileges vanished.

Not everyday but some days I miss the innocence and ignorance of childhood, today has been one of those days.
